Originally from Pakistan, Kay Habib’s first inspiration was her own mother, who would repurpose things for the household. She completed a post graduate degree in interior design and fashion, and an MBA in Australia before moving to Canada in 2006. Kay began her own interior design business SkillDecor, and soon after started Skilled Accents which focuses on employing marginalized community members and upcycling fabric waste to make accessories and decor products.
In 2019, she had the idea of LLBK after having seen the waste of fabrics in the community. Through this charity, people in need can come to our events and shop entirely for free. This helps not just the environment and local community, but also helps their dignity and choice in what they need and the aid they receive.
